# How to resend a failed EDI delivery

> Find an EDI message that failed to reach your trading partner on the EDI Activity page, resend it from the row menu or in bulk, and confirm it was delivered.

To get a failed EDI message to your trading partner, find it on the **EDI Activity** page and resend it. You can resend one message at a time or several at once.

## Before you start

* You need the **"ParticipateInTender"** permission. If you do not see **EDI Activity**, ask an Admin to check your permissions.
* **EDI Activity** is rolling out to accounts in stages. If your account does not have it yet, you will not see the tab.
* If a message shows **Pending**, Alvys is still working on it. Wait for it to finish before you resend.
* If **Resend** is not available for a message, that message can't be sent again from this page.

<Tip>
  Alvys retries failed messages automatically. Before you resend, check **Next Retry At** on the row. If a retry is coming up soon, you can wait for it instead. If **Next Retry At** is empty and the **Error** starts with "Automatic retries have ended", Alvys has stopped trying and you need to resend the message yourself.
</Tip>

## Find the failed messages

1. Click your username in the bottom-left corner and select **EDI & Visibility**.
2. Click the **EDI Activity** tab.
3. Click **Failures** above the list. The list now shows only messages that failed to deliver.
4. If you are looking for one message, find it by **Customer**, **Transaction Type**, or **Shipment ID**.

## Resend one message

1. Find the failed message in the list.
2. Click the three dots at the end of the row, or right-click the row.
3. Click **Resend**.

## Resend several messages at once

1. Select the checkbox at the start of each failed message you want to resend.
2. Check the bar above the list. It shows how many messages you selected, for example **2 selected**.
3. Click the **Resend** button in that bar. It shows the number of messages, for example **Resend 2**.

  *Two messages selected for a bulk resend.*
</Note>

## Confirm the resend worked

Alvys tells you the resend was requested. That is not the same as delivered, so check the row.

1. Wait a moment, then look at the message in the list.
2. Check that **Delivery Status** changed from **Failed** to **Delivered**.
3. If you want to see whether your partner accepted the message, turn on the **Acknowledgment Status** column. Click **Columns** on the right side of the page and select **Acknowledgment Status**.

</Note>

If the message still shows **Failed**, read the **Error** column for the reason. If you can't resolve it, see [A partner says they never received a message](/en/help/integrations/a-partner-says-they-never-received-a-message).
