# Equipment Types column (Drivers/Assets table)

> What the Equipment Types column in the Dispatch Planner v2 Drivers/Assets table shows, where the values come from, and how the filter matches drivers to a trip's equipment.

The **Equipment Types** column lists the equipment types recorded on each row's assignment preference, such as **Van** or **Reefer**. Use it to find drivers set up to haul the equipment a trip needs.

## Where do the values come from?

The column shows the values in the **Equipment** field of the row's assignment preference, separated by commas. It does not read the equipment type of the trailer the driver last hauled. A dash means the preference has no equipment types.

## How does the filter match?

* **Pick from the list.** The list offers every equipment type. A row matches when its preference includes any of the picked types.
* **Type text.** A row matches when its equipment types contain the text. For a type whose name has spaces or symbols, such as **Step Deck** or **Van - Air-Ride**, pick it from the list instead. Typing the full name may not find it.

When you open the drivers list for a selected trip that is **Open** or **Covered**, the planner sets this filter to the trip's equipment type for you.

## Why is a driver missing after I select a trip?

**The preference has no equipment types.** When the filter is set to a trip's equipment type, rows with no equipment types do not match and drop out of the list. Add the equipment types to the driver's assignment preference, or clear the filter.

**The preference lists a similar but different type.** The filter matches exact types. A preference with **Reefer** does not match a trip that needs **Reefer - Hazardous**.
