# Truck Status column (Drivers/Assets table)

> What the Truck Status column in Dispatch Planner v2 shows, what each badge color means, and where the truck's status is set.

The **Truck Status** column shows the status of the driver's truck as a colored badge. Use it to spot trucks that are in the shop or out of service before you assign a trip.

## What does each badge color mean?

| Status | Badge |
| - | - |
| **Active** | Green |
| **In Shop** | Orange |
| **Inactive** | Gray |
| **Repair**, **Crashed**, **Planned**, **Temporary**, **Leased Out** | Gray |

The filter list offers all eight statuses.

## Where does the status come from?

The status is the one set on the truck's profile in **Assets > Trucks**. The truck is the one in the **Truck ID** column, which is the truck on the driver's assignment preference.

**In Shop** can also change on its own. When a work order on the truck is in progress, such as a repair order synced from Fleetrock, Alvys sets the truck to **In Shop**. When a work order update leaves the truck with no work order in progress, Alvys sets it back to **Active**.

## Why does the column show a dash?

If the driver's assignment preference has no truck, there is no status to show and the column shows a dash. Edit the assignment preference and pick a truck.

## How does sorting work?

Sorting orders trucks alphabetically by status name, not by how serious the status is. Drivers with no truck status sort last.
