# Commodity column (Trips table)

> What the Commodity column in Dispatch Planner v2 shows, where the value comes from on the load, and why it can be blank.

The **Commodity** column shows the commodity description recorded on each trip's load, such as **Frozen produce** or **Paper goods**. Use it to see what a trip is hauling before you match it to a driver or trailer.

## Where does the value come from?

The column shows the commodity description entered for the load as a whole. It belongs to the load, so every trip on the same load shows the same commodity.

It does not list the commodities added to individual stops. A load with commodities on its pickup stops but no load-level commodity description shows a blank cell.

Typing in the filter matches any part of the description, and case does not matter, so typing "frozen" keeps **Frozen produce** and **Frozen meat**.

## Why is the column blank?

The load has no commodity description. Add one on the load to have it appear here. Trips with a blank commodity stay at the bottom whichever way you sort.
