# Origin Date & Time column (Trips table)

> What the Origin Date & Time column in Dispatch Planner v2 shows, how one time is picked from an appointment or an FCFS window, and which time zone it is in.

Part of the [Dispatch Planner column reference](/en/help/loads-trips/dispatch-planner-columns).

The **Origin Date & Time** column shows when each trip is scheduled at the stop where it starts, in that stop's local time, for example 9/04 @ 14:30 CST. The Trips table is sorted by this column when you open the planner, so the trips that start soonest are at the top.

## At a glance

## Which time does the column show?

The column shows one time for the trip's first stop, which on most trips is the first pickup. The time depends on the stop's schedule type:

1. If the stop is **APPT** (Appointment), the column shows the appointment date and time.
2. If the stop is **FCFS** (First Come First Serve), the column shows the **End Window** time, when the window closes. If the window has no end time, it shows the **Begin Window** time.
3. If the stop has no date for its schedule type, the column shows a dash.

The date shows the month and day only, with a 24-hour time. To see both ends of an FCFS window with the year, add the **Pickup Window Begin (FCFS)** and **Pickup Window End (FCFS)** columns. See [Stop dates and times](/en/help/loads-trips/stop-dates-and-times) for how schedule types are set.

## Which time zone is the time in?

The time is the local time at the stop, followed by the abbreviation of the stop's time zone. A pickup in Dallas reads in Central time wherever you are. This is different from the **Created** and **Dispatched Date** columns, which show your own local time.

The abbreviation names the time zone and stays the same all year. A Dallas pickup in July reads CST, not CDT, but the time shown is still the clock time at the stop.

## How do sorting and filtering handle time zones?

**Sorting follows the real moment, not the clock in the cell.** A 9:00 pickup in New York sorts ahead of a 9:00 pickup in Dallas, because 9:00 in New York happens an hour earlier.

**Date filters use the date in the cell.** The filter compares the stop's local date as shown in the column, not the date in your own time zone.

**Trips with no date go last.** They sort to the bottom whether you sort earliest or latest first, and they never match a date filter.

When you select a driver in the Drivers/Assets table, the planner sets this filter for you, so the trips shown start between the driver's available date and seven days after it.
