Part of the Dispatch Planner column reference. The Available in column shows the city and state where a driver will be when they become free, at the time shown in Available at. Use it to find drivers who will be free near a trip’s pickup.

At a glance

Where does the location come from?

Available in is where the commitment just before the driver’s free time ends:
  • If that commitment is a trip, it is the trip’s last stop.
  • If that commitment is a driver event, such as Hometime or Vacation, it is the event’s address.
The planner picks the same free stretch for Available in as for Available at, Available for, Next planned at, Next planned in, and Next planned event, so all six describe the same moment. To learn how that stretch is chosen, see the Available at column.

Why does a driver show a location I did not expect?

It is not the driver’s current position. A driver who is already free shows where their last trip or event ended, not where their truck is now. For the most recent reported position, check the Last Ping column. A short gap moves it. If the time before the driver’s next commitment is shorter than the “Available for” minimum in Settings > Planning configuration, the planner skips that gap. Available in then shows where the driver will be after the next commitment instead. The end location is unknown. In the rare case that the planner does not know where a commitment ends, it shows where the driver’s next commitment begins. Only Driver 1 counts. For a two-driver team, the location follows Driver 1’s schedule.

Why is the column blank?

The driver has no availability. When Available at shows a dash, Available in does too. That happens when the driver has no trips and no driver events on record, or when the driver belongs to an outside carrier. Filtering by place leaves out blank rows. A place-and-radius filter only matches drivers whose Available in has a location on the map.
