Part of the Dispatch Planner column reference. The Truck ID column shows the number of the truck paired with the driver in their assignment preference. Use it to see which truck a driver or team runs, and to narrow the table to specific trucks.

At a glance

Where does the truck come from?

The truck comes from the driver’s assignment preference in Assets > Assignment Preferences, the same pairing that puts the driver in the table. On a team, Driver 1 and Driver 2 share that one truck. The column does not read the trucks on the driver’s trips. If you assign a different truck to a trip, the Truck ID column keeps showing the preference truck until you edit the assignment preference. The filter list offers every truck that is on an assignment preference.

Why does a driver show a truck I did not expect?

The preference has no truck. If the driver’s assignment preference has no truck, the column shows a dash. Edit the preference and pick a truck in the Truck field. The driver has more than one preference. The table shows one row per driver, even when the driver has both an Active and a Planned assignment preference. The truck can come from either one, so a Planned preference with a different truck can show. Archive or delete the preferences you no longer need. Truck numbers sort as text. Sorting is alphabetical, so truck 100 sorts before truck 20. Drivers with no truck sort last.

Why doesn’t the column mark external trucks?

The Truck ID column shows the truck number only. To check whether a truck belongs to your fleet, select the driver’s row and look at the Truck section of the asset sidebar. On accounts where external trucks are turned on, a truck that is not in your fleet shows an External badge next to its number there. The sidebar also links the truck number to the truck’s profile. In the Trips table, the Truck column marks the same trucks with a short Ext badge.
