Part of the Dispatch Planner column reference. The Dispatcher column shows the dispatcher named on each row’s assignment preference. Use it to see which dispatcher looks after a driver or team, or to filter the table down to your own drivers.

At a glance

Where does the dispatcher come from?

The column shows the Dispatcher field of the row’s assignment preference. Both drivers on a team share it. A dash means the preference has no dispatcher. To change it, edit the assignment preference in Assets > Assignment Preferences. See How to set up Assignment Preferences for drivers. This is not the dispatcher on a trip. The trip’s dispatcher appears in the Trips table’s Dispatched On Behalf Of column.

How does it affect a trip I assign?

When you assign a single trip to the driver with Assign or Assign and dispatch, the trip’s dispatcher is set in this order:
  1. If the trip already has a dispatcher, it keeps that dispatcher.
  2. Otherwise, the trip takes the dispatcher shown in this column.
  3. If this column is also empty, you become the trip’s dispatcher.
When you assign several trips at once, this column is not used. See How to Use Bulk Actions in Dispatch Planner.

How does the filter work?

  • Type text to match part of the dispatcher’s name. Upper and lower case do not matter.
  • Pick dispatchers from the list to show rows whose assignment preference names one of them.
  • Pick No Dispatcher to show rows whose preference has no dispatcher.
