Part of the Dispatch Planner column reference. The Dispatched On Behalf Of column shows the dispatcher responsible for each trip. Use it to see whose trips are whose, filter the table down to one dispatcher’s work, or hand a trip to another dispatcher without leaving the grid.

At a glance

How is the dispatcher chosen when I assign a trip?

When you assign a driver to a single trip in the planner, the trip’s dispatcher is set in this order:
  1. The dispatcher already on the trip, if it has one.
  2. Otherwise, the driver’s dispatcher, as shown in the Dispatcher column of the Drivers/Assets table.
  3. Otherwise, you.
Unassigning a trip in the planner clears its dispatcher, and the column shows a dash.

How do I change the dispatcher from the grid?

  1. Click the Dispatched On Behalf Of cell on the trip.
  2. Type part of a name to narrow the list, then pick the user.
The cell shows that it is saving, and the change applies to that trip only. If the save fails, the cell goes back to the previous name. To change the dispatcher on many trips at once, use Bulk Change Dispatcher. See How to Use Bulk Actions in Dispatch Planner.

Why can’t I change the dispatcher?

You are trying to clear it. The grid only lets you pick another user, not set the dispatcher back to empty. To clear it, use the full trip edit screen. The dispatcher has already been paid for the trip. The change is refused and the cell goes back to the previous name.

How is this different from Dispatched By?

Dispatched On Behalf Of is the dispatcher responsible for the trip. Dispatched By is the user who saved the trip’s assignment. Changing the dispatcher in this column does not change Dispatched By.
