Part of the Dispatch Planner column reference. The Actual Temperature column shows the latest temperature reading for each trip, in degrees Fahrenheit, with a red warning icon when the reading is off. Use it to catch reefer loads that are drifting from their required temperature.

At a glance

What does each value mean?

Filter by Warning to find trips that are running too warm or too cold. Filter by Error to find temperature-controlled trips that are not reporting a temperature.

Where does the reading come from?

  1. The planner looks at two sources for the trip and takes the newest record: the trailer assigned to the trip, as reported by a connected trailer or reefer tracking device, and check calls logged on the trip that include a set point and a temperature.
  2. From that record it averages the return-air temperatures. If the record has no return-air temperature, it averages the probe temperatures instead.
  3. The result is shown in degrees Fahrenheit and compared with the trip’s Required Temperature.
There is no age limit on the record. A reading stays on the trip until a newer record arrives, however long ago it was taken.

Why is the column blank?

No record exists for the trip. The trip has no trailer assigned that reports through a connected device, and no check call with a set point and temperature has been logged. These trips do not match any value in the filter. The newest record has no temperature. If the trailer’s latest report carried a location but no temperature, the cell shows a dash, even if an earlier record had a reading. When the trip has a required temperature, it filters as Error. Filtering on OK can include trips that show a dash. A trip with no required temperature whose latest record has no reading counts as OK.
