Part of the Dispatch Planner column reference. The Origin Market column shows the DAT market where each trip picks up, such as Dallas or Atlanta. DAT markets are freight areas centered on a metro area or freight hub. Use the column to group and filter trips by the market they start in.

At a glance

How is the market assigned?

The planner works out the market from the map coordinates of the trip’s first pickup:
  1. If the pickup sits inside a DAT market, the column shows that market.
  2. If the pickup sits inside two overlapping markets, the column lists both in alphabetical order, separated by a semicolon.
  3. If the pickup sits outside every market, the column shows the nearest market, as long as one is close enough, within about 500 miles.
The column reads the first pickup, not the first stop. On a trip that starts with a waypoint, Origin Location shows the waypoint while Origin Market shows the market of the first pickup.

How do I filter by market?

Type text to match any part of the market name, such as Dallas. Typing also finds trips that list two markets. Pick from the list to match trips whose market is exactly one you picked. A trip that lists two markets does not match a single market picked from the list, so type the name instead.

Why is the column blank?

The trip has no pickup stop. With no pickup there is no location to place in a market. The first pickup has no map coordinates. See Understanding address input to set coordinates on a stop. The first pickup is far from every DAT market. A pickup more than about 500 miles from the nearest market gets no market.
