Part of the Dispatch Planner column reference. The Trip Value column shows the dollar value of each trip, worked out from the load’s rate. Use it to see which open trips are worth the most before you assign a driver, without opening each load.

At a glance

How is the trip value worked out?

Trip Value is the part of the load’s rate that belongs to this trip.
  • If the load is split into more than one trip, the rate is shared across the trips in proportion to each trip’s miles, so a longer trip carries a larger share.
  • If someone entered a trip value by hand, the column shows that amount instead of the calculated one.
The trip value is also the amount that percentage-of-trip-value driver pay is based on. See Driver Rates, Rules & Plans: The Complete Guide.

How do I filter by trip value?

Enter a dollar amount without the dollar sign. The filter starts on greater than or equal to, so entering 2000 lists trips worth $2,000 or more. To set a lower and an upper amount, choose Between.

Why are trips out of order when I sort by trip value?

Sorting compares the amounts digit by digit, not by size. A trip worth 1,000cansortbeforeatripworth1,000 can sort before a trip worth 200, because 1 comes before 2. To find trips above or below an amount, use the filter instead, which compares amounts correctly.

Why does a trip show $0.00?

The trip has no value yet. A trip whose value has not been worked out, for example because the load has no rate, shows $0.00 rather than a dash. The Rate Per Mile column is blank for these trips.
