Part of the Dispatch Planner column reference. Each load or trip custom reference your company sets up for Dispatch Planner v2 gets its own column in the Trips table, named after the reference. Use these columns to see your own codes, such as internal IDs, on every trip, and to fill them in without opening the load.

At a glance

Where do the columns come from?

The columns come from Settings > Custom References. A reference becomes a column when all of these are true:
  1. It is on the Loads tab or the Trips tab.
  2. Dispatch Planner v2 is checked under Include in Alvys on the reference.
  3. The reference has not been hidden. A hidden reference shows grayed out in the list.
The column header is the reference’s Name, exactly as it is set in settings. A load reference holds one value for the whole load, so every trip on that load shows the same value. A trip reference holds a separate value for each trip. If a load reference and a trip reference share a name, the table shows two columns with that name. Custom references are managed by users with the Admin, Partner Admin, or Operation Manager role, on accounts where custom references are turned on. See How to set up custom references in Alvys.

How does each reference type look and filter?

A trip with no value for the reference shows a dash. If you filter on more than one reference column, a trip has to match all of them. Sorting puts the values in alphabetical order. Numbers in a Text reference are compared character by character, so 10 comes before 9.

How do I edit a reference from the grid?

  1. Click the reference cell on the trip.
  2. Enter the value:
    • Text and Date: type the value.
    • Select: pick one of the reference’s options. You can type to search the list.
    • Checkbox: pick Yes or No.
  3. Press Enter or click away to save.
To clear a value, delete the text, or pick the empty option shown as a dash. If you edit a load reference, the value changes on the load, so every trip on that load has the new value. If the change cannot be saved, the cell goes back to its previous value.
