Part of the Dispatch Planner column reference. The Carrier Sales Agent column shows the team member who arranged the carrier for each trip. Use it to see who owns the carrier relationship on a trip without opening it.

At a glance

Where does the name come from?

Carrier Sales Agent is a trip-level role, so trips on the same load can show different names.
  • When a carrier is added to a trip, the trip takes the Carrier Sales Agent set on that carrier’s profile.
  • You can change it on the trip afterward. See How to Add Roles to Loads and Trips.
  • If a different carrier is assigned, the trip takes the new carrier’s Carrier Sales Agent, or none if that carrier’s profile has none.
  • If the carrier is removed from the trip, the Carrier Sales Agent is cleared.

Why does a trip show a dash?

The carrier’s profile had no Carrier Sales Agent when the carrier was added. Setting one on the carrier profile later does not update trips that already have that carrier. Set it on the trip instead. The trip has no carrier. A trip without a carrier has no Carrier Sales Agent.
